The Script!

As I said  before (I think) I got tickets for Xmas to see The Script. OMG, so we went on Tue (pancake Tue :D) and I have to say, they where absolutely amazing. One of the best nights ever, but one of the crushiest (I know thats not a word, but I don't care) concerts I have ever been to! I hardly got any photos because bodies where nearly on top of one another! Anyway here is a picture of the night...I was over to the right at the front, but too far to the right to be in the picture...BUT, I don't mind as I was close enough to get a hand shake from Danny O'Donoghue and a guitar pick from Mark Sheehan! How epic is that....I had famous sweat on my hand and I am home with a guitar pick that was actually used by the guitarist from The Script the whole night :)....Oh, and that was the concert that so far holds the record for the most amount of people in the Odyssey Arena for a concert...what a night!

(This was how I got a hand shake the first time he came over. Photo by Thomas McCool.)

So, standing huddled together in the freezing cold, with the wind and rain banging from all directions, was well worth it. Awesome Xmas pressie Thomas!

Its cold, there's snow

Snow. It has been lying on the ground now for nearly a week, the longest I ever remember snow staying without beginning to melt before another layer or just coming and going. To be honest, it's quite nice unless you have to drive in it, but looking at it and being out in it is soo fun! We gots a new layer today, so after I built Mr. Chills the last day, today it was time for an igloo...well, any hut feature made out of snow and ice has to be classed as an igloo right, not just the icy ones the little Eskimos create. I sadly had to...recycle...Mr. Chills to to so, but he was beginning to look like something from 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' so, he was happy not to just, melt away. So, it took me nearly all day, and by the time I went in home, it was dark(ish) and I suddenly realised that it was 4.30 and I had forgotten to eat...imagine that, snow and fun makes you forget that you have a stomach, good job huh? So I warmed up with a nice chinese. Anyway, I like walking in the snow too, looking at the nice sights and getting to wear my wellies and ski wear without looking like a complete idiot :). Look at the blog page and there should be snow falling!

However, with the snow comes the cold, and with the cold comes snow, sometimes. Now, the temperatures are sitting in the minuses, and that is not nice let me tell ya, and the snow is turning to ice and going nowhere. During the night the temperatures get to -10 and to around -2 or 2 during the day. Nice. I end up wearing so many layers I look like a sumo wrestler when I am at work. More hateful is when I have to get up in the morning. Do I get up though...nah. Wake up, stick a toe out, straight back into bed and back to sleep until it is absolutely necessary to get up. Even more hateful is having to pee during the night. OMFG...and rolling over to a more comfy position doesn't even work because if you move, you end up in a cold place in the bed...not nice! That's the cold....it makes you pee, so much more!

That's the body's way of....trying....to keep us warm. Keep blood away from the surface, higher blood pressure and no sweat = pee much! What else does the cold make you do?....Shiver, shake, curl up in a ball, fall on your ass in the ice, fry in front of a fire, lay in bed etc etc. But that's what winter is and its nice....in its own way...

Toot-a-loo...

Trips, snow and....TV ads...

Cambridge. Yip, that's where I went on Friday morning until Saturday night. Over with my mum, cousin and auntie to look at Anglia Ruskin University. Got up at 3am on Fri mornin to make our way to Belfast International for our 6am flight to Stansted. It was painfully cold, and the snow was coming like a blizzard...yes, snow in November! Well, the cold in London was worse, like -10°. Waiting for the train, I don't think I could have shook much more, nor added any more layers. Arriving in Cambridge (I have NEVER seen so many bicycles in my life; literally EVERYWHERE), we found our Tenison Towers guest house. The woman owning that place was unreal, and couldn't have made us any more at home. She showed us the kitchen so we could make tea/coffee etc., and even told us "If the phone rings, just answer it." Then there was Francine! Well, this was a doll that 'lived' in our room! That's all I am going to say as I still have nightmares! Over the two days, other than looking around the uni, which was a really good, nice uni, I spent lots and ate far too much, but I probably shivered the calories away! Coming home, we where delayed in Stansted for almost 2 hours and hit with an epic blizzard when we did get home. A 45 minute journey from the airport home took almost 2 hours. At one point, we where kinda wonderin were we where....for the next 2 days, the snow continued, but hey...snowmen :D

Yip, I built a snowman and threw snowballs for my dog. It's called being in touch with your inner child!

And here he is....Mr. Chills himself. He even has a carrot for a nose and coal for eyes. I was proud! Yes his head is a little small compared to the rest of his body, but by then the snow wouldn't stick and each time I rolled the ball, the dog barked at it and tried to eat it. He really is a hopeless case...lol. The snow however did make work a bit....uncomfortable :(

Being cold outside tends to make ya stay in more and....watch more TV, right? So that's kinda what I did...watched more TV than usual. And OMFG! Who the heck comes up with the ads shown these days! OK, so the first really annoying one for me was the 'Go Compare' ads, which stars some opera singer who needs...well, sacked. They came on so long ago, but the recent one almost made me rethink my Egypt trip! But there are now so many more! Have you seen the ad for the Abbey insurance ad! Right, if some asshole reversed into me, made me spill my coffee all over myself, and then my car door got totally obliterated, I seriously doubt I would sit in the car watching with my mouth open and then break into song about my insurance company! I would jump out, scream at the dick in front, chuck the rest of my coffee over him while letting him know it was all his fault, and then take off down the road after the van...probably in the car, door or not! Then there is the Shreddies knitting Nannas!  The thought of me eating cereal 'knitted' by anyone truly revolts me. Sorry, but even the ads are...haunting! I haven't eaten shreddies since! The Phones 4 U ads too...what genius came up with the idea of a Japanese prison and why???! The Birds Eye Polar Bear is also kinda creepy. Every time I go to open my freezer, I expect him to be there, saying (in a creepy, deep, manly voice) "And Kylie, I'm watching you." Aaaagh!
Occasionally however there are good ones, such as the Yeo Valley ad...so good! I love that tractor! And the Lynx ads...nearly all of those are good! But if they get any worse, I reckon I will stop watching TV...record the program, and watch it later. Or online!

Soooo, I reckon that's me for this time....
